My name is Edwin Schieveld. I am a certified music producer. After 2 years of study, I obtained my diploma “Music Producer” after assessment (exam) by 3 music teachers. In addition, I also play Guitar, Keyboard (learning) and harmonica. I want to emphasize that making and producing music is purely my hobby. It has gotten a bit out of hand over time.
During my studies, Cubase 11 Software was used. I now use and work with Cubase 14. A fairly complex software, but once you know how to use it, it is a great tool for producing, mixing and Mastering music. I also use FL Studio 21 and Magix Music Maker. Beautiful and fun software tools to work with. In addition, I also use many Soundpools for making music. There are countless soundpools in various genres. Most of the time my music is only Instrumental but sometimes I also use real singers. I love all genres of music (not that Kinky Metal e.g.) and it is fun to make music…..
I started my hobby in a small room (see photos below) where I often retreated to listen to music but also to play music by myself. In the past I jammed with friends which was always very nice. There was always food, drinks and especially fun. Now I only play but I use my own played loops (using the Boss RC50) and then you create your own band. Very nice to do.
This room slowly changed into a kind of ‘Man Cave Music studio’.
It all started when I was contacted by a charity from America. This charity provided complete Rodeos in America and Canada for people with (physical and mental) disabilities. For their commercial (which was broadcast on TV during a big Rodeo show in Las Vegas) they were looking for a matching music track and that was one of my made songs that they happened to find on YouTube. That’s where the hobby started to grow a bit more. My music was also broadcast on the local radio station. Local newspapers (local TV) also wanted more news about how my song ended up on a big TV station. I refused all of this… I just want to quietly do my hobby.
As you can see on this site I have also won prizes regularly. For me it was more the recognition and appreciation for the work I made. Not the Glory or Fame. I also made it to the Semi Finals in a Nashville Country Music Contest with a Bluegrass Country Song. I’m very proud with it. You can find my music on my own Facebook Group page (under construction) and YouTube.
A music producer does not judge or condemn the diversity of music genres but just does his job with great pleasure. Everyone has his own taste. “Music is Just For Fun”.
